As part of IBM's Global Services organization, the HPSS team in Houston offers
a variety of services, including storage systems consulting services. HPSS
systems engineers collectively represent over 50 years of experience dealing
with mass storage systems, hierarchical storage management technology, and
related requirements for customers world-wide. Using proven systems engineering
methods and tools, the engineers follow a rigorous process to analyze requirements,
develop a system-level architecture, propose design alternatives, validate
requirements against possible solutions identifying remaining gaps, and provide
recommendations for follow-on actions and closure. Services are tailored to specific
needs, including phased approaches that logically sequence tasks allowing the scope
